Zed is a company for developers, by developers. All three founders have extensive software experience and still write code regularly. The company has raised $42M to pursue a vision of a new way to collaborate on software, keeping conversations about code connected to the code itself rather than fragmented across tools. They built a high-quality editor as a user interface and are now developing an operation-based version control system integrated into Zed to enable granular edit-level tracking and improved collaboration with agents and teammates.
