Spruce is a VC-backed startup (founded early 2024) building software for heat pump installation businesses across the UK. The role involves owning slices of architecture and technical strategy, writing high-leverage code on critical paths, mentoring a growing engineering team while remaining hands-on, and working on problems such as 2D floor-plan geometry and drawing tools, offline-first PWAs with sync conflict resolution, RBAC cross-company job sharing, underfloor heating physics and hydronics calculations, LiDAR integration, and solar/battery systems. Hybrid role with 2 days/week in office.
