We build kinetic sculptures that live in iconic public spaces. Small multidisciplinary team of designers and engineers creating large data-driven installations. Role is a senior software engineer who will be a senior voice on a tight team, touching every layer of the stack. Responsibilities include managing Linux-based distributed systems that coordinate massive arrays of sensors and actuators; writing embedded/firmware in C/C++ for custom PCBs and motor controllers; using primarily Python, JavaScript, C, and C++; solving hard problems like real-time constraints, custom networking protocols, and building high-reliability systems that run 24/7 in public spaces. Requirements: 10+ years of experience, strong hands-on tinkerer who understands math/physics and hardware, comfortable with mission-critical pressure, and mentorship-minded.
