The Drivers team builds the libraries and tools that developers use day-to-day working with MongoDB. Role involves designing, writing, and supporting Open Source libraries and standalone tools for developers and administrators using MongoDB. Responsibilities include working on the MongoDB Go Driver, command line utilities that ship with the MongoDB server (including performance optimizations), the mongomirror tool for migrating data to MongoDB Atlas, testing/delivering/supporting across multiple OSes and MongoDB versions; collaborating with Product and Server teams on designs and specifications; investigating bugs and support requests; and seeking speaking/writing opportunities to evangelize to developer communities. Success milestones: within 3 months know most of the codebase and contribute effectively; within 6 months implement major planned features and handle escalations; within a year deliver several releases and independently scope and design new features.
